Immunization Reminder for School Year 2015/2016

Texas State law requires students attending school to be immunized against certain vaccine-preventable diseases. Students who have not received the required immunizations and are not current on their immunizations at the time school starts next year WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND CLASSES. Students should get vaccines from their doctor. Please make an appointment to get your child’s vaccines as soon as possible. We suggest getting the shots before the end of summer and before school starts. Local clinics may not have the immunizations your child needs if you wait. For your convenience Shelbyville will offer two Immunizations Clinics. Pre-K and Kindergarten Immunization Clinic 8:00 am – Noon,Tuesday, May 5, in the Cafetorium. 6th Grade student’s going into 7th Grade and Senior’s Immunization ClinicTuesday, May 19, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM in the Cafetorium. If your child has had immunizations recently the school will need a copy in order to update their records and confirm your child is current. Please turn in these to the school nurse as soon as possible so they can be recorded and bring your child’s record up-to-date.

If you have any questions, please contact Jeane Taylor, School Nurse at (936) 589-7363.
